Summer Course Alingsås [2025-07-25]

Was our 30th anniversary, 30 years since our first 9-day Summer Course, the best course so far? Yes, many participants expressed that. They were very satisfied with most things: the teaching, the training, the accommodation, the food, the beautiful environment of the Folk High School, but above all, the calm, positive, and happy atmosphere that characterized the entire course. The qi-field, the most important aspect of Zhineng Qigong, was very strong and fine. The anonymous course evaluation showed a value of 6.69 in response to the question about how the course was perceived as a whole, where the maximum is 7.0.

For the third year in a row, we were at Hjälmareds Folkhögskola outside Alingsås. Nearly 160 people participated, mainly from Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Gathered for 9 days of professional teaching and training in Zhineng Qigong, under the guidance of our teacher Dongyue Su. When you come into contact with genuine Zhineng Qigong, led by a qualified teacher with long experience, you realize the great opportunities there are to influence your life and health with the method. The teacher’s gong fu is crucial for creating a qi-field together with the students, which is highly important for the outcome. If the qi-field is not sufficiently strong and refined, everyone’s opportunities to achieve the desired results are limited.

Since we reopened after the pandemic, we have steadily become more and more participants in our Summer Courses. In Zhineng Qigong, the principle is that the more participants there are, the better it is. It increases the chances for everyone to achieve better results; the qi-field becomes stronger. When we practice together, everyone receives help from all the others, and the effect becomes much greater than if I would practice alone or in a smaller group. For next year, summer 2026, make sure to register in good time if you want to participate. It is very likely that we will have even more participants then.

ME

“This was my first summer course. I have ME. I am surprised that I have been able to be on my feet as much as I have during the course. It has gone better than I expected.”

Saved my life

“I am grateful for the Qigong that saved my life. It turned a downward spiral upward. I am braver, I dare to ask questions when I have them, and I trust the answers.”

Allergy

“I am allergic to grass. I take medication daily. But this year I haven’t used the medication.”

“I am allergic to grass, and I forgot about it; even when a person was cutting the grass outside. It didn’t bother me at all. I could just be outside without being disturbed. Something is happening. Thank you all and thanks to the qi-field.”

Restless legs

“When I came here, I thought I would be lying on a mattress the whole week. But I haven’t lain on a mattress at all. It’s great. On the first day, I couldn’t listen to the entire lecture; I had to lie down on the sofa for a while. My legs are noticeably calmer. Before, I couldn’t sit still at all. My legs were restless all the time. I’ve experienced many improvements. Thank you all for being so helpful.”

Restored

“It has been a joyful and magical course. I was having a tough time before the course with a lot of work and stress. I feel totally restored now, it went quickly to get restored.”

The qi goes deeper

“I feel that the qi goes deeper and deeper during the summer course. I understand the knowledge more and more. Two years ago I had two warts, and after the summer course, the warts had disappeared. I slept well during the course. I dare not think about what kind of person I would have been without Qigong. Thank you all for practicing Qigong and ‘holding qi up and filling qi into the body’ – here with me. We can’t get too much qi.”

More qi

“This is my second summer course. I have received much more good information and corrections of my movements. I feel really good and I feel that I have more qi. I am very grateful.”

Smoother and calmer mind

“I have been training for about 25 years. I have managed to avoid many injuries thanks to my training. I had a lot of sway in my back when I started. I worked on that during some summer courses. Now I feel that I am straight. My improvements have come gradually. I have gained a much calmer mind. I can influence my health and well-being in a completely different way than when I started training. I had a lot of problems with stress, which I no longer have, even though I have a complicated job where I should be more stressed.”

Migraines

“What I have problems with is heat. It leads to migraines. Before the course, when it was very hot, I had a lot of migraines. So I was a bit worried about how it would be here on the course if it got hot. But I haven’t had any migraines here at all, despite it being warm and me sweating a lot. I have even been able to sit in the sun without it affecting me.”

Gratitude

“When I came here I was quite worn out, but now I am so grateful. I am filled with gratitude for the whole concept, filled with trust and stability. Now I’m going home, and it feels like I am moving forward.”

Better shape

“I took my first summer course in 2011. I was in pretty bad physical shape back then. I had been sitting in front of a computer my whole life. I had a frozen shoulder and back pain. It was my sister-in-law who spoke highly of the summer courses. So I decided to give it a try, and that’s how it all started. Since then, I have continued with Qigong. Now I am 69 years old and can confirm that my body is in better shape now than when I started. I can get down to the floor, I can do arm training. When I compare myself to my peers who always start our meetings by talking about their ailments and upcoming surgeries that come with aging, I notice that I have nothing to share. I take no medication, I have no surgeries pending.”

Good friend

“With age, ailments have come and I have felt like an old person. But Qigong has helped me with that, and for the last two years, I have felt much younger. I feel that I have a body that works, that can do everyday tasks. I also think about what a participant said to me, that ‘Qigong is a good friend to hold onto when you get old.’ And I’m not young anymore.”

Memory better

“I have discovered that I remember more names than I thought I would, and I struggle a lot with my memory. It is really amazing. So, I want to thank you all very much for your patience, care, and kindness. Thank you.”

Easier breathing

“What I have thought the most about is my breathing. I have had a severe cough for several years, and it has been difficult if I am to register. Should I stand here coughing, and I notice that people move away. But it has been better for a long time, and I breath more easily.”

Tear fluid

“My first contact with Qigong was last autumn at a weekend course. I was there because I thought it had nice, gentle movements and didn’t think much about health effects. I had no thought of it. But after that weekend course, I got a lot of tear fluid in my eyes. They have always been so dry. I have always gone with eye drops that I had to administer several times. I would get red in my eyes for the slightest bit of dust. But it got better. It is truly a before-and-after situation. Every training session when I open my eyes, I feel that I have tear fluid. It is so significant for me.”
