We gathered together for a beginner’s course in Hold qi up during the weekend when daylight savings arrived, and despite that the snowstorm outside had not noticed the sunnier times, the mood in the course was as bright and warm as the premises of Munksnejdens pensionärsförening. Many of the participants talked about how good the qigong practice makes them feel, and how they feel like they get new insights each course they join and how each course gives new inspiration and energy. Two of the participants talked about specific results in which pain had disappeared. A mother to be commented on that she had not slept at all the night before, but still felt refreshed, brighter and lighter.
Some of the participants comments:
Energy and inspiration
“I came to this course for energy, I’ve got a lot!”
“I’ve had a hard time with motivation, I have had plenty of inspiration this weekend. I was really tired, but am not tired today!”
“I fell off the train for regular training, but I am inspired now, this has been great.”
Experiences of “aha”
“I have taken many courses and had pauses in my own training. But every time I take a course I feel positive, easier every time. I feel like I can take up the thread directly where I left it. The movement becomes easier the more I practice. I am happy to see that I get new insights each course. It makes sense to join courses over again.”
“I have asthma that I struggle with, I really like to practice qigong. The ideas about “aha- experiences” I can recognize.”
Specific results: pain disappeared
“I’ve practiced every day since fall, I have had tangible results. Some physical pain has completely disappeared. Two completely different things! Unbelievable.”
Not sleeping but spirited nonetheless, shoulder pain disappeared
“I will never stop training. However, I practice periodically, but I always feel better after a course: lighter, easier. Today I feel good even though I hacve not slept anything at night because the baby is kicking in my stomach. I could have stayed at home but I feel refreshed, despite lack of sleep. Two years ago I injured my shoulder, something knocked the joint out of place and I had a lot of pain. But during a Summer course something happened in the shoulder during practice, it’s been alright ever since. For me qigong works, I believe in this.”
Calmer, happier, more grateful
“I exercise because it makes me feel good, I feel stronger, relax, better. I am calmer and happier. I highly recommend this method.”
“I have trouble understanding that someone would not like qigong. But I am also one of this people who practice periodically, I sometimes have so irregular habits. It’s great to be here, I will never stop doing this. I am very pleased and grateful to be her. I am calmer, kinder, happier. You get more kind and nice by practicing qigong, I do not care if someone says something nasty to me any more. A am comfortable. It’s nice to be nice.”
Feel and sleep better
“It has been good to be here. Wonderful people, you feel the kindness and togetherness.”
“I’ve tried everything and feel that this suits me, this slow pace. I am increasingly stiff, so I want to do this as a precaution.”
“I like that this method does not require so much effort to do. I also like that you can learn more and more. I believe in this, it feels good.”
“I feel a lot better since I started with qigong. I have learned so much this weekend. I sleep really well after I’ve practiced.”
“I feel so much better, this course came at a good time.”
