We began the New Year in Bollnäs, with a basic course in Hold Qi Up, giving the students a great start with extra qi, and help with correcting their postures for higher quality practice, to get the most out of the exercises.
Present at the course were participants from Bollnäs, as well as people that came from Sundsvall, Stockholm, Gävle and Ockelbo.

Qigong, your best friend
”I’m thinking about what our teacher Su Dongyue hase said – to make Qigong our best friend and that it’s like a relationship- the Qigong is always there, but that it also requires me to be there. The Qigong is always there, I feel I can completely rely on that. Even if I abandoned it, it will always be there. I can face my life, and problems that may arise, in a totally different way now. My body feels more lithe now than in my ’glory days’. I think in a very different way now, and that makes me so relaxed. I don’t get irritated or dwell on things and that feels so good. Qigong is with me until my last breath.”
No more Iritis
“In the early 2000s I got Iritis for the first time, and required treatment. If you’ve had it once, it usually comes back, and it in my case it came back once or twice every year. In 2011 I was about to go to my first Summer Course, and the day before the course I started to feel the symptoms, it felt like sand in my eyes. I had no time to visit a doctor, but still went to the Summer Course. The symptoms disappeared during the course and have not come back since. To practice Qigong is a way to feel good. I’ve become more relaxed and happier. I’ve filled up with much needed Qi during the weekend, and yesterday evening I was filled with more energy than I have had for a long time.”
Mentally stronger
“It is so nice to have this tool – it is like travelling on a bus which runs problem free, and it gives me a feeling of security. Mentally I do not overthink things so much, and in my work I can adjust better and relax where I am.”
More freedom
“It is a journey on many levels-, physically as well as being able to face emotions and difficult thoughts. I have more space inside me now and that gives me a greater freedom. There is a special feeling in practicing together and supporting each other.”
Feels good
“So many things in society today demand that you show results. It is so nice that you are not judged, that you practice on your own but still in a “team”. I have been an athlete all my life and hurt my back when I was in my twenties and have visited chiropractors. This feels soft and it feels good.”
More supple
“I went to courses a long time ago, both the basic course and Summer Course and felt the difference e.g. I am more supple. I have practiced now and then. I have noticed positive changes during this course.”
All the lab results were perfect
“I have never been the diligent one but I have never let go of Qigong. Problems with my shoulders disappeared quickly. I am calmer now and do not go into fits of rage over trifles like I used to do. I had a health check-up recently and all the results were perfect.”
Depressive exhaustion
“Qigong is great! When I started I suffered from depressive exhaustion and fibromyalgia. I got better and started to work. I stoped practising Qigong for a while and started to practice other things. My body protested by giving me a temperature, so in 2011 I resumed practicing Qigong. Before then, I had to get reflexology once a month due to the fibromyalgia and I did that for 12 years. The last time I did that was in 2016. I am also kinder both to myself and to others.”
Stable changes
“I have a varied history of injuries that I got before I started practicing Qigong. I am a totally different person today – I can deal with much harder trials. A lot of things have happened in my muscles and joints and now even in my internal organs. To change your way of life takes time, it must take time to effect a permanent change. Thanks to Qigong I can understand that and I can do it now. Step by step I feel better and better and can take care of myself and my family.
Role model
“My sister has brought me here. She has been a role model, very inspiring in her getting better and better. It makes a person want to have that that you have in Qigong. I am in my forties and my body is making itself felt so I would like to have this self-healing ability for my body.”
