Kristina has got stronger an has less pain

Training Qigong has made Kristina stronger and taken away a lot of the pain she used to have

SLE

Previously, I was good in finding excuses why I should not start training Qigong. But now both my boyfriend and his friend, who practise Qigong, pushed me. So in the spring of 2006 it was time for my first weekend course. Almost 5 years ago I was diagnosed with SLE: systemic lupus erythematosus – an autoimmune rheumatically related disease with a combination of diseases. To have these diseases means reduced function in the kidneys, the lungs and the heart as well as pain in the joints, fatigue and reduced circulation resulting in white toes and fingers.

Softer Body and Less Pain in the Joints

After starting to practise Zhineng Qigong, my body is much softer. I have more energy and the pain in my joints is almost completely gone.

Less Infections

Normally, with my diagnosis, one would have two yearly periods of bad infections in the body and the joints and high fevers. Since 2005, I haven’t been ill and I haven’t really had any bad periods.

Better Posture and Can Handle Conflicts at Work

I used to have problems putting on my sweater, lifting heavy things and picking up things I had dropped. Now I can handle these things much better. I work as a florist and that isn’t really such a great job for me. But my employer is forthcoming and I have Qigong that, among other things, helps me to stand correctly as it reminds me to think about my posture and keep my body regulated. Conflicts at work have been difficult for me to handle in the past, but now I have opened up and can be more sensitive.

More Energy

The tension pain below my shoulders and in my other joints has reduced and nowadays I can sit with my legs crossed, which I couldn’t do before. In general, I have more energy for, e.g., house work and I even go dancing with my friends. When school ends and on Mother’s Day, we have hectic times at work and then I have really felt how important it is that I train Qigong in order to be able to handle it.

After this year’s summer course, as I am about to go home again, I’m much softer, a lot happier and much warmer. I have regained a healthy colour in my face. It shows that I have a better appetite for life.
