Johan got rid of his pollen allergy

I started my Qigong journey by joining the summer course of 2007, mostly out of curiosity. A friend of mine had experienced good results as a result of his Zhineng Qigong training and he had told me this. Starting with a summer course was a good way of getting familiar with the method. Occasionally the training could be a bit tough, but I was eager to stay, not the least because of the wonderful people and the nice atmosphere.

Pain in my knee disappeared

When I came to the summer course, my left knee hurt due to a meniscus injury. At one point during the course the pain had completely disappeared. During the last couple of days I also felt something was happening in the lumbar region of my back. It was as if that part of my back was rumbling, and the result was that I could stand straighter and that I was less swaybacked.

Energy and calm as tools to deal with my job

During the last year I have regularly trained at home and also joined some basic courses, the training course in Gothenburg and, last spring, a Shenxin Qigong course. I had also decided to stay all 18 days of the summer course since I was interested increase my training and find out more about Qigong. It is exiting to see what happens. Su Dongyues lectures give me so much and the training will help me in my profession as a psychologist. Last winter I had a very stressful period in my work and I could feel that Qigong gave me the energy and the peace of mind that I needed in order to manage the situation.

Suppler body

My body has become suppler since I started training and I have better control when I do my movements. My posture is also better. Before I started training Qigong I was leaning forward with my body.

Stopped taking drugs for pollen allergy

About five years ago I got allergic to pollen and was forced to take medicine during the summer time. When I joined my first summer course I hade the medicines in my luggage but did not use them. This year I have gone one step further and have not taken medicine one single time during the whole summer. Another effect is that I don’t need that much sleep anymore. Another reason why I am practicing Qigong is that I am very interested in the part that has to do with developing wisdom and abilities. Qigong leads to personal growth and makes me feel good.
