Hold qi up Pargas [2014-04-26]

To visit the beautiful archipelago town Pargas in spring is a nice experience in itself. If one also can take part of a course in zhineng qigong there, one can look forward to a wonderful weekend. This is also what the participants of the last weekend course in April in Finland were thinking. Besides all the inhabitants of Pargas, many had travelled from Turku, Helsinki and Tampere to learn and to practise Hold qi up.

We had a harmonious and a happy weekend with a lot of practice. The participants were pleased with the course and felt motivated to start training at home. Many could also tell about good results, both from the course and from the training at home. A small selection of the comments that the participants gave follows below.

A person with burn-out got energy, a wart disappeared

“I started to practice zhineng qigong several years ago. I had burn-out when I started, but gradually I started to feel better. I got more energy and started to manage difficult situations. I calmed down and got a better posture. I have had a pause in my training but this spring I started to practise again. During the spring a wart on my finger that I have had for four years has disappeared. Zhineng qigong is good.”

Improvements in the back

“My back has been very bad but I noticed an improvement already after three months of training.”

High blood pressure has been balanced

“I have practiced for several years and I have had some pauses. But I have always known that zhineng qigong is so good that it pays off to return to the training. My high blood pressure has been balanced and I have got help to handle stress and everyday life. Zhineng qigong is good.”

The pain has reduced

“This was my first zhineng qigong course and it has been interesting. I suffer from tensions in my body and I have pain. I cannot sit or stand for long periods. Today I could stand longer and the pain has decreased during these two days. I cannot hear with my left ear, I suffer from Meniere’s disease and I suffer from dizziness. In this course I have not had any dizziness at all. I feel very motivated to continue practising.”

“This was my first course. I have got problems with my back and for instance after vacuuming I have to lie down for a while. Clearing away the snow has also been difficult, luckily I had to do it only once last winter. I had pain in the small of the back when I came to the course but gradually it improved. Maybe the training will help.”

Relaxing and motivating

“This was my first course. I became seriously ill last year and I search for an alternative treatment method as a complement to the medications. I have heard a lot of good things about zhineng qigong and I have a lot of motivation to continue practicing. The second time we practised La qi was better for me than the first time. The body can relax better like this than in a gym. I feel that I can do something myself to get healthy.”

Better concentration

“The training has made me happier and I can concentrate better at work. It is important for me to practise in the morning. I am going to continue to practise.”

“This is my second basic course in a short time, it was my father that inspired me in the first place. Directly after my first course I noticed that I could concentrate a lot better when I attended lectures. I attended this course to refresh my memory and to get inspiration.”

The training makes me happy and alert

“I train to counteract old age. I am in much better shape now than when I started to practise about seven years ago. To practise in the morning means a lot to me, I have a morning programme that is “dynamite”. Afterwards I am happy and alert. Even if I sometimes do not have the energy to rise up in the morning to train, I have never regretted that I have trained in the morning.”

Migraine and pain in the back has improved

“I have trained zhineng qigong since the autumn in 2010. At this period my migraine was chronic. I started to get migraine already when I was 6 years, and at worst, in the year 2010, I had attacks that were 3-5 days long. On top of this I had pain in my back and in my shoulders and my body was stiff. I could not vacuum or walk long distances because of my back. I tried acupuncture and anti-retroviral drugs but they did not help. When I started to practise I noticed changes in my body after half a year. I attended the summer course and I started to practise more. My pollen allergy disappeared after six months and that inspired me to continue. My lactose intolerance disappeared and my back and shoulders improved. Now, after three years and six months I can do everything, also run. I have no pain in my back and shoulders and I have migraine very seldom. I am convinced that my migraine will disappear. I am more positive and calm. Zhineng qigong has changed my life and it gives me security. Now my son has started to get headaches so it is a security to know that also he can start to practise.”
