Hold Qi Up Helsinki [2017-03-18]

A nice atmosphere and motivated participants characterized this spring’s basic Hold Qi Up in Helsinki. Below are some comments:

An everyday tool

”I have participated in almost 10 weekend courses and one autumn course. It is rewarding to participate in courses, you always learn something new. I practise every evening. I have no particular ailment. To me, qigong is a tool to handle the challenges that come with life.”

”I started practicing qigong six years ago. I have no specific problems. I am glad I have learned the movements and that I have a method I can use when needed. The training helps me to clear my thoughts and to make decisions.”

A way to cope with pain

”It feels so good to practise when I know the movements. Qigong helps me to cope with pain. It is reassuring to know that these movements cannot harm me.”

Important to meet other qigongers

”I have been practising qigong since 2005. It feels really good to be here even if I cannot participate both days. It is important to meet other qigongers. The greatest benefit is that I am free from the nerve pain in my arm.”

Feels good – want to continue

”This is my first course. I have suffered from migraine since I was 15. I have previously tried other methods like tai chi and yoga. La qi felt good. I would like to continue and see where it leads.”

Shoulder problem disappeared

”I attended my first course in 2008. I have a chronic bowel disease and wanted help to manage stress. I noticed after a few years, that my recurrent shoulder inflammation had disappeared, as a result of the training. I also feel much more calm.”
