Hold Qi Up Gran [2017-05-13]

The municipality of Gran is located in the Oppland county, just over an hour’s drive north of Oslo. It is a rather small municipality with less than 15,000 inhabitants. Here, we for the first time arranged a course in Hold Qi Up on May 13-14.

As typically, we were asked by local people who had participated in our courses elsewhere to arrange a basic course in Gran. When more people participate in courses and then continue practising together, they gradually build up a stronger Qi-field locally.

All beginners exerted themselves and quickly learned the movements. They also had good help from those repeating Hold qi up. Several had come from Oslo to join the course in Gran. The atmosphere was good and several had significant results after just two days of training in the Qi-field. A new course is already planned for September 23-24.

Some of the participants’ comments:

Relaxed shoulders

”I have got a lot of help from qigong to relax my shoulders. They have got, as well as my shoulder blades, a new life. From practising I have got a new spark. Thank you very much for a fantastic course, it is such a nice place, I have got lots of energy from being here.”

Meniscus damage

”I took my first course in February and when I repeated the course this weekend it was much easier to go deep in the movements. I have a meniscus injury in my knee and in my everyday life I need to sit and rest regularly. During this course though, I have easily been able to stand the whole time and my knee also feels much better.”

Lots of good results

”I have got many good results from qigong training over the years: My energy level is higher and it feels as if I have a new body. During my first summer course my hips were twisted into place, and I immediately knew that these movements are very good. I have also got help to come back after a concussion. Before I was afraid to be visible in social settings. Now it is much easier for me to talk in front of others.”

Surprisingly awake

”This is my first qigong course. I have noticed a lot in my shoulders and back during the course. I have been surprisingly awake during both days. It has been a fantastic course.”

A new journey in life

”This is my first course and when I first heard about this course I immediately thought that this was something that I wanted to learn. It has been a very nice course, and great to get so good instructions and corrections of the movements. It feels as if I am starting a new journey in life and I am looking forward to start practising in my everyday life.”

Traffic accident

”I was in a traffic accident some years back and I need to build up the body again after the accident. I saw a specialist that recommended me to start practicing qigong. After training regularly for one and a half years I was back and could start working again. I have continued practicing after that.”

Anxiety and depression

”I took my first summer course in 2010 and the course made a big difference in my life. I had struggled with anxiety and depression since I was 18 years until I was 28 and needed big doses of antidepressants during these years. When I was 28 I no longer needed any medication and have not since, something I am sure is thanks to qigong.”

Get going with the training

”This is my first course and I have been looking forward to take the course. I have noticed things happening in different places in my body. I am looking forward to get going with the training in my everyday life.”

Restless

“I easily get restless and I think that this is a good method to prevent the restlessness. I have vertigo, but I have nevertheless been able to bend during the exercises without getting dizzy.”

Sleeping problems

”This is my first course, it has been very exciting and interesting. I have had some problems sleeping after working the evening shift at work and I am planning to do some training before I go to bed to help me sleep better at night. During the first day of the course it took me some time to relax and clear the mind from thoughts but after some time it was much easier to relax.”
