Five years ago I got a chronic inflammation in my large intestine called Ulcerative colitis. I had no relapses, instead I felt bad almost all the time. I felt handicapped, I always had to know where I could find a bathroom. I didn’t want to go out for dinner, I was always feeling depressed. I had a low energy level and had to sleep a lot. I weighed only 42 kg. Before this inflammation I was spirited and happy, often dancing. Now I could hardly go for a short walk.

Strong Medication

The doctors gave me cortisone and of course I listened to them. It helped me but when I reduced the medication, the problems came back. I got other medicines and finally I used very strong stuff. While I was ill I took many different medicines and I was so tired off them because of the serious side effects.

I started to look for other solutions, changed my diet, took mineral analysis etcetera. It worked for a while then I collapsed again. March this year the doctor gave me two alternatives. I had to choose cytotoxins or colostomy. If I weren’t so stubborn I would probably be sitting here with a colostomy pouch.

Contact with Qigong

A neighbour who knew I was ill introduced me to qigong. I attended my first weekend course in March this year. I felt very bad before the course, I wasn’t sure if I could attend it. I didn’t think I would be able to get there but my neighbour persuaded me to go. I didn’t know if I would be able to stand up for a whole day, I was constantly worried.

Surprisingly enough, I could participate the whole course. I didn’t need to go to the bathroom during the course and I didn’t have to lay or sit down during the exercises. I stayed overnight at a cousin’s after the first day. I thought I would have to go to bed immediately after the course but I went to my cousin’s place and made some food instead. I went to the store and bought nuts and other tasty things and ate them too. I was really spirited and we went to bed quite late. Even though I slept on a couch I slept really well. During the second day I also participated the whole day. When I drove home I felt that something happened in my body. Something made me feel calm and secure.

Practise Every Day

Since the first course I have practised Zhineng Qigong every day. I was very elated after the course, for the first time in a long time I felt happy. I felt I was on the right way. After two months I could stop the medication. I had not dared that without Qigong. I gained 4 kg. My husband noticed directly after the course that I was happier, had more energy to socialize with my two year old daughter and that I could take care of things in another way. I’m much calmer and I expect to recover completely by practicing Zhineng Qigong.

I have a lot of stress-related problems to take care of. I had not dared or managed to take care of them without a method where I feel secure and calm and can get the energy to change things. Many friends say that I’m more happy and alert now. I can do every-day things like go to the cinema or socialize with friends over a good meal, which I now also can enjoy. My direction of life has change.
