Inger breathes better even though she suffers from COPD

I’ve suffered from asthma for several years but suddenly I got so much worse that I had to be admitted to the emergency room. There it was stated that I suffer from COPD. COPD can’t be cured even though asthma medication can help a bit. It’s hard for me to exert myself physically, for instance walking up a flight of stairs or carrying heavy things.

A course in Zhineng Qigong

I joined the Heart and Lung Association, an exercise group for COPD-patients and I also went to a gym to try to feel better. Last autumn 2010, shortly after I had joined the association they, arranged a course in Zhineng Qigong. I attended two basic courses and I immediately felt that it was something for me. There was a difference between practising qigong, and doing exercises or going to a gym. So I’ve continued to practise.

Better standing posture and charisma

Now, at the summer course, one of the teachers noticed that my standing posture has improved. He thought that my charisma was great and I felt the same. Something has opened up. I breathe much better and I feel different. My balance has improved as well.

Fun to practise

A lot has happened mentally. I’m calm and peaceful. I really enjoy practising. I’m going to keep on practising qigong. The training has given me so much already. I feel that I got a tool that I can use no matter where I am.
