We Would Love to Have Your Pictures From the Summer Courses!

Did you take any nice photos during the courses in Nossebro that you would like to share on our website? If so we would love it if you could send them by email to feedback@zhinengqigong.eu. We would like pictures from for example the landscapes of Nossebro, other photos of nature or photos from the outings. The photos given to us may be published on our website. Last year we made a photo collage from the pictures sent to us, you can view it here: https://zhinengqigong.eu/index.php/sv/blogg/10513-fler-bilder.html. Considering the GDPR legislation we ask you not to send any photos where people can be identified.

Here is a picture one of the participants gave us after this year’s Summers Courses. A butterfly was very content sitting on his arm during an outing in the middle of the course.

Summer and Qigong Training in Nossebro

For the 25th year in a row, the European Zhineng Qigong Summer Courses have started. This year, like many before, we are in Nossebro where we live and practice in the school’s facilities for 18 days. The Summer Courses are the best training we can offer and we focus on practicing and learning professional qigong methods. Several course participants have already reported that the training has improved their quality of life in different ways. These results include, among others, reduction of pain, improved sleep and an improved calm. Several people have also shared their positive experiences of community and good company during the course. This year we are over 170 persons who live a simple life here, eat well, practice a lot and socialise with each other. Here are some photos – from the training hall, from the trip some of us made halfway through course one and of our life here in general.

Thinking of What to Pack for the Summer Course?

Very soon the summer courses are here and there are many who will take the course for the first time. With you in mind we have put together a proposal for a packing list that you can use to get some inspiration when it is time for you to start packing. We also gathered tips from experienced summer course participants about things that might be good to bring. If you where to forget something at home, it is not the whole world. Grocery stores and a pharmacy are within walking distance.

You can get a copy of the list here.

Almost time for the Summer Courses – have you booked your travel tickets yet?

It is not long before the Summer Courses begin! It might be a good idea to make your travel arrangements as early as you can, since more Swedes spend their vacation within Sweden, travelling by train and bus, so some departures might get full. An other thing to keep in mind for the Summer Courses is that this year it is possible to pre-register for the EasyCare Comb courses in our web page. For more information go to: https://zhinengqigong.eu//en/pre-registration-through-the-website-for-the-courses-in-easycare-comb-to-be-held-during-this-years-summer-courses/

Enjoy this inspiring collage of pictures that were photographed during last year’s courses, and welcome to Nossebro!

Learn More About Qigong, Meridians and Acupoints

Many of our students who practice Zhineng Qigong wish that they could help their loved ones with different kinds of health problems. What we mainly recommend is to invite others to join a Qigong course, and start to practise themselfs. However, sometimes there might be obstacles, for various reasons, to attend a course. A Tuina treatment may, in such cases, be an alternative to help family and friends. In addition, it may create curiosity and interest in later wanting to join a course.

Tuina

Tuina is an umbrella term for different kinds of body therapy, and what we teach is called Acupoint Tuina. During the course you learn about the meridian system and acupoints, which also give those of you who have practiced for a long time greater understanding and insights about Qigong. To get better effects from Tuina, the practitioner/therapist must have power and strength, and this you get by practicing Qigong.

Weituo Jin

In conjunction to the Tuina course we also teach Weituo Jin, a Qigong method with the purpose of building power and strength in the practitioner/therapist. Learning Weituo Jin is mandatory if you want to learn Tuina. The method is also good to practice for therapists working in other areas – to be able to provide better treatments for others but also to build yourself up.

The qi-field

When you join a Tuina course for the first time you also have to learn Weituo Jin (2+2 days). As in all of our other courses we practice in our strong qi-field for these four days, which gives us a lot and helps us to get good results. If you want to learn more about the qi-field, click here. If you only want to practice Weituo Jin, you can book 2 days only.

In Spring 2019 we will arrange these courses in Gothenburg May 2-3 and in Stockholm May 30 – June 2.

Tuina helped Gun-Erna with whiplash, serious tremors and a complicated fracture

“I noticed at once that it was effective. The pain markedly lessened. I had more energy, could concentrate more, and also slept better.”
This is what Gun-Erna writes about the effects that came about when she started to get Tuina treatments from her son. She has continued to get Tuina every time they’ve seen each other, and her improvements contenue. Among other things, pains from a serious traffic accident have been greatly reduced. Biggest course of this winter is over – now heading towards the Summer Courses

The Winter Course is a training course where we meet, live and practise together for a whole week. Our main focus is on the Shenxin Qigong exercise, but we also do other Qigong exercises. This year we had over a hundred participants. We practised a great deal, but we also had time for socializing in the evenings and during the breaks.

Next up are the Summer Courses, two 9-day courses where number two follows directly after number one. Book your place at the first course here. Book your place at the second course here.

Here are some photos from the Winter Course!

The lawn outside the school was bright green during the first days of the course.
Eventually we did have some snow though.

We stayed at Karlskoga Folk High school, which we have been doing for the last
couple of years.

Practising in the hall.

In the middle of the course we had half a day off for other activities. Some went on a
little trip, others stayed in the area. Weather was quite inconsistent during the course
but on that day we had lots of snow.

Close by to the school they had activities for the winter break; swedish “fika”
(drinking coffee or tea), baking and crafts.

Practising Shenxin outside.

Practising Qigong at any place and any time. Share your experiences (Tip us up)!

One of the advantages of practising qigong is that you can keep practising even when
you are travelling. Lynn from Ekenäs in the southwest of Finland has practised with us
for several years. Now she and her family have taken a year off and are touring New
Zeeland. When we asked her what about practising during the trip she wrote this:

“When we toured New Zeeland for five weeks with the whole family in a camper (mobile
home or RV) I war really enjoying my practising. The camper was
too cramped but in every camping site we found, my husband and I, found a small
area for our practise. Sometimes between two campers,
sometimes next to a motorway but also beautiful calm places like meadows, beaches and
next to rivers. New Zeeland is an incredibly beautiful country so the great problem was
keeping your eyes shut! Travelling a lot in the camper in a short
time I felt a profound gratitude to be able to start the morning by practising qigong. I felt
that the body got more supple and I could charge up on energy.”

Do you have experiences of practising qigong when travelling? Or maybe in other times
and places when you might think that it would be hard to do? Please text us
feedback@zhinengqigong.eu and share your experiences and tip us up how to to it!

“The pain in my shoulders as well as the one in my lumbar area disappeared after two months of daily training”

Many participants have got help from qigong training to get rid of pain and ache. Here you can
read what some of them says about it. We have previously published another article about this
which you can read here.

Birgitta

”My brother and my sister in law had joined a summer course already and they strongly
recommended me to do the same. In the summer of 2000 it was time for me to join one. The
most revolutionary thing that happened to me was that the pain in my leg disappeared”

Read more about Birgitta here.

Elisabeth

”So I joined the course and after two days my neck was much less strained. Now I can move my
head the way I want. After five days I could feel that the pain in my shoulder was decreasing
and the mobility in the joint was coming back. It’s no longer the same pain and stiffness that I’ve
had for seven years.”

Read more about Elisabeth here.

Marie-Louise

”Before I practised Qigong I went to the doctor and he gave me painkillers. Today I can handle
the problems myself with Qigong. I’ve got a tool that I can use to take care of myself.”

Read more about Marie-Louise here.

Peter

”The pain in my shoulders as well as the one in my lumbar area disappeared after two months
of daily training.”

Does sitting in front of the computer tire you out? Practising Qigong can help you!

A lot of work in front of the computer and sitting still for a long time can be a strain on the body. It can make you stiff and tired, reduce your ability to concentrate, and cause headaches and pains in shoulders and neck.

If you have spent more time in front of the computer during the last months, practising Qigong can be a way of removing the bad effects of sitting still for a long time.

*Think of your posture when sitting in front of the computer

Alternate between standing and sitting if possible, and keep your posture straight but at the same time relaxed. During our basic courses we teach how to stand and sit in a way that is relaxed and can help us to conserve our energy instead of getting worn out. How we stand and sit has an impact on our health and the more we use the body in a good way the better we will feel.

*Take short breaks for training during the working day.

One way to avoid health problems due to too much sitting down is to find a moment to train during the working day. Practising Qigong is a good method to improve the circulation without working up a sweat. The practise does not take much time since you do not need to shower afterwards. If you have already attended our courses and are now working from home – practise Hold Qi Up, Shenxin Qigong or La Qi, even just a short while, during your working day.

*Do not forget the eyes

A general feeling of tiredness often starts with the eyes. Several hours in front of the screen or reading can tire the eyes and it is good to give them some rest from time to time.  An idea can be to let the eyes shift focus, i.e. look away from the screen and instead look at something further away. A more powerful way of relaxing the eyes we teach in the course ‘EasyCare for Eyes’. By taking a break from your work in front of the computer and doing the ‘EasyCare for Eyes’ the health of your eyes can improve. The eyes influence the rest of the body so the practise is also good for general well-being throughout the body.
