Hold Qi up Hangö [2006-08-19]

The first basic course in Hold Qi Up of this semester was arranged on August 19-20 in Finland's southernmost city, Hangö. Despite the beautiful summer weather, over 30 persons participated in the course. Many of the repeating participants felt a real joy for being given the opportunity to take another course. The new participants in the course learned quickly and had good help from those who have been with us for a while. Many of the participants expressed how positive it has been for them to participate in our training groups after the course. These groups are now active in both Ekenäs and Hangö. Also in Karis, a group is forming.

"I've had real help from Qigong. It has made me very happy. I'm always happy when I practice at home with my mother or alone. It feels good and I get happy. I'll try to participate in all the courses."

"When I practiced after the first time I had participated in a course, the problem I had in my shoulder disappeared. My range of motion in that shoulder was limited, but suddenly I realised that I didn't have that limitation any more. I was actually prescribed an operation, but I didn't need any operation."

"This is my second weekend course. I started practicing in February. Then I took my first course. Then I decided to attend the summer course as well. That is a decision I don't regret. It was a great experience. I was really ill in the winter when I started practicing. I felt really bad then. Practice has helped me a lot. I have practiced every day. I think I have found such a good tool. I feel like I'm being good to myself when I practice every day. I don't feel I'm missing out on anything else. Participating in the practice group has been really good. I used to have a very difficult urinary infection, which started last fall. Now it's as good as gone. I almost can't feel it at all. It pays off to keep insisting to practice."

"I sleep a lot better when I practice Qigong."

"This is my anniversary course, because it's about a year since I participated in my first course. I've attended a few courses during this year. I think this is my fifth course. It's been really important to me. I attended the summer course this summer and it was an experience that divided my life into "before the summer course" and "after the summer course"."

"This is my first time here. My first language isn't Swedish and I was quite anxious to come here, but everyone has been so kind. I understood almost everything that Lars said. I'm grateful for having been here."

"Especially when you reach the age that I have, you have a lot of ailments. They can be kept in check if you just keep practicing. Simpy put, your life quality improves. So I recommend this to everyone."

"For me, Qigong has meant more patience, a better ability to concentrate and more calm, both at home and at work. I've practiced regularly, but with a few less active periods."

"I've practiced for a few years. I'm not even the same person as I was then. I was on sick leave because of my depression, I had migraines almost every day. I had pain in my neck and suffered from a stiff neck frequently. I feel really well today, thanks to this. I had some kind of food poisoning on Friday night. I had a Hes Burger and woke up in the middle of the night feeling sick and with cramps in my stomach. I had to throw up and I was wondering how I would be able to drive here just a few hours later. But I sat down on my bed and did track 4 of the first CD with La Qi and Qi regulation. The cramps stopped and I could fall asleep. I could drive here without any problems."
