It was a choir of birds singing to us outside of the windows whilst we learned La Qi and Hold Qi Up. Many of the participants that have joined the course before said that they learn new things every course, that they are happy to learn details to make the whole exercise better.

Some comments from the participants:

Calmer, more in balance and arthritis much improved

“I have been coming to the qigong weekends since the first course in the UK. Last year I went to summer course for the first time and it has made a big difference to my practice and to me. I’m calmer and more balanced, health problems like arthritis are much improved. Coming back to the weekends is important. Don’t worry about what’s wrong with you – just practice!”

Qigong hugely helpful in life

“Each time I come for a weekend there are tiny things to be corrected and I find it very beneficial. Qigong is hugely helpful in my life.”

“I came to my first course last year and I practiced every day at first until I had the moves embedded. Now I do it 2 -3 x a week. It is hard to describe the effect of qigong – life just gets better. When I practice, ideas come quicker – I feel more relaxed, with any worries I have I can see what to do about them.”

I feel peaceful

“This is my first experience of Qigong. I’m a dancer and it feels very useful to learn this. I have felt a lot of energy in my body – flowing. I want to make it my daily practice. I feel peaceful – there has been pain here and there but I feel good!”

This is my 5th weekend and I learn more and more every time. I notice when I’m not practicing – I notice the difference.

Helped me during hard time

“I have had good corrections on this course. Qigong has been invaluable in the last year. My husband became very ill and eventually died. Qigong helped me enormously. I don’t know how I would have managed without it.”

Life more balanced

“I have felt a difference this weekend. I live abroad and do not have a group, so I practice on my own every day. On Sundays I do my practice twice to give myself a treat. The corrections were helpful, I have felt taller. My life is more balanced with the practice.”

I will practice for the rest of my life

“My first course was some years ago but I have been practicing every day for the last 5 years. I will do it till I die. Sometimes I do it twice a day. It has helped me during hard times in my life and it is helping me to stay strong during this awful illness – it will help me get better. The whole family practices qigong and now also my boyfriend!”

Pain in arm and shoulder is gone

“I’ve been doing Qigong for 10 years. I practice every day. I have ME and feel locked in with the stress of that. I had pain in my arm and shoulder when I came to the course which has gone over the weekend.”

My asthma has disappeared

“I practice in waves but qigong never goes away. I notice when I look back that my asthma has disappeared. I can cope with stress much better. We meet every week in a group and practice.”

Good results

“I am a beginner and I came because I saw what good results one of my friends got from practicing qigong.”

This is my first time. It has been nice to explore more deeply. I like the connections it makes. Thank you – I look forward to more practice.

Focused

“Thank you. I have always wanted to learn qigong. I’ve done the odd hour before. It´s been great to have the opportunity to learn it properly. It brings me into the here and now. I’ve been so focused – it brings me into a blissful state.”

Feel better

“I have had a stressful year with lots of uncertainties – house moves and family things. I finally moved into my new house 3 weeks ago but immediately became ill with a kidney infection. Then after I’d finished the antibiotics it came back. This time I have tried to manage without antibiotics. Yesterday I had lots and lots of reactions – a lot of pain. I felt really unwell last night but today I feel masses better. I am so delighted.”

Teacher:
Fatima Ringvall

In the lovely hall in the beautiful area of Huntingfield we had our basic course.
