This time the language used was Finnish and to our joy some participants, who had not been training for a long time, joined us. One of them was 90 years old and she was so happy to repeat the course together with three of her grandchildren.

Below are some comments from the circle talk:

”During these last years I have had difficulty finding time to participate in a basic course in Hold Qi Up, but when I finally did last winter, I noticed that my back that had been in a very bad state, became much better. I had overstrained my back carrying my young son a lot. I have recently gone through a strenuous divorce and doing La Qi has been vital for me. I know I get both strength and calm through qigong, which is important and feels safe for me.”

”About 10 years ago I attended a basis course in Hold Qi Up that my daughter in law enticed me to do. After that my stiff and sore arm got better and it has remained so ever since. This course was a gift from my daughter in law for my 90th birthday. I have enjoyed being here together with my grandchildren and all others.”

”My cousins enticed me to attend this course. They have been training qigong for a long time and have told me about their positive results. I have had a very stressful last six months and an old neck injury has tortured me to the point that my ears freeze (lock) and given me headache. I have tried to cure this with acupuncture and physical therapy but it has not really helped. Now, after the course, I feel calmer and more relaxed. It may have been a kind of reaction when my ears froze (locked) several times during the weekend. I am attracted to this method and believe it can help me.”

”It was nice to repeat a basic course, it was a long time since I last participated. I realize how important it is to have Hold Qi Up as a training method to come back to if I don’t succeed with the other methods. HQU is always a method that is safe and secure. During the years I have practiced qigong, my posture has become better, the pain in my foot is reduced and I no longer require an operation.”

”16 years ago, when I began practicing qigong, I had no illness or complaint. Today, all these years later, I am still in good shape, because I have been practicing qigong regularely. It has been some time since I last came to a course, so therefore I wanted to come just to get a chance to practice together with the Zhineng Qigong organization. So many people are stressed out these days and this method simply gives us a spiritual calm.”

”I have been practicing qigong for a long time now, but lately I have been feeling very tired and realized I needed more qi-energy. Before I started practicing qigong I had recurrent sinusitis. They are now completely gone.”

”During the course I was able to do more of the exercises than usual. Every morning, when I have the most energy, I do qigong. In 2013, I was bitten by an infected tick and got lime disease in the neural system (neuroborreliosis). It resulted in a spinal cord injury. Qigong practices my body and mind. I become calmer and the muscles are stimulated. It is always good to do a basic course because you get a lot of help getting the movements right.”

Teachers:
Åsa Slotte and Ursula Öhrman

The basic courses in Hold Qi Up usually attract both beginners and more experienced qigongers.
